Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 20, 2025

At Confessa, we believe in creating a safe space where people can share their thoughts and experiences anonymously without fear of judgment. To maintain this environment, we've established the following guidelines that all community members must follow.

1. Respect Privacy

While Confessa is an anonymous platform, it's important to respect others' privacy:

  • Do not share personally identifiable information about yourself or others
  • Do not attempt to identify anonymous users
  • Do not share private conversations or messages without consent

2. Be Respectful and Kind

Anonymity is not an excuse for disrespect:

  • Treat others with respect, even when disagreeing
  • Consider how your words might affect others
  • Provide constructive feedback rather than harsh criticism
  • Support those who are vulnerable or seeking help

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is not allowed on Confessa:

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or content that promotes intolerance
  • Harassment, bullying, or threats against individuals or groups
  • Explicit sexual content or pornography
  • Graphic violence or content that glorifies violence
  • Content promoting self-harm or suicide
  • Illegal activities or content that facilitates illegal acts
  • Spam, scams, or misleading information
  • Content that violates others' intellectual property rights

4. Crisis and Mental Health

While Confessa can be a place to share struggles, we are not a crisis intervention service:

  • If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services
  • For mental health crises, reach out to a professional helpline
  • When responding to posts about mental health struggles, be supportive and avoid giving unqualified advice

Resources for those in crisis:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 988 or 1-800-273-8255
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
  • International Association for Suicide Prevention: Crisis Centers

5. Authenticity

We value genuine sharing:

  • Share your own experiences rather than fabricated stories
  • Do not impersonate others or create multiple accounts to manipulate discussions
  • Be honest in your interactions while maintaining appropriate boundaries

6. Content Moderation

To maintain these guidelines:

  • All posts are reviewed by moderators before being published
  • Content that violates our guidelines will be removed
  • Repeat or severe violations may result in account suspension or termination
  • Users can report content that violates these guidelines

7. Feedback and Appeals

We value community input:

  • If you believe content was incorrectly moderated, you can appeal the decision
  • We welcome feedback on how to improve our guidelines and moderation processes
  • Contact us at community@confessa.com for appeals or feedback

8. Changes to Guidelines

These guidelines may evolve as our community grows. We will notify users of significant changes and encourage regular review of this page.

By using Confessa, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines. Together, we can create a supportive space for authentic sharing and connection.
